Written warranty.
Our work is warranted in writing: 2 years on all labor, 5 years on our shower waterproofing and tile, and 5 years on deck framing. The full terms are in your written contract, and we hand you a copy with your estimate, as New Jersey requires.
What we warrant, and for how long
RuLee Construction LLC warrants that the labor we perform will be free from defects in workmanship for the periods below, starting on the date of substantial completion shown on your final invoice.
- 2 years on all labor we perform, including kitchens, interiors, flooring, finish carpentry and trim.
- 5 years on shower and tub-surround waterproofing and tile we install over a substrate we prepared, against leaks caused by our installation.
- 5 years on the structural framing of decks we build: footings, posts, beams, joists and ledger attachment.
- 1 year on caulk joints, paint touch-ups, and adjustments to doors, drawers and hardware.
A defect is work that falls short of the NAHB Residential Construction Performance Guidelines or the specifications in your contract. If a covered defect appears, we repair or replace the work at no charge, at our option.
What is not covered
- Normal wear, and damage from misuse, neglect or skipped maintenance.
- Work changed or repaired by others after we finish.
- Materials and products covered by their manufacturer's warranty. We hand those warranties to you, register products in your name, and help you with any claim.
- Normal settlement and seasonal movement, and hairline cracks in grout, caulk or drywall within guideline tolerances.
- Water from sources other than our work, owner-supplied materials, and fire, flood, storms or other acts of nature.
Your part
Keep up the simple maintenance on the care sheet we give you at closeout (for example, sealing grout yearly and cleaning and sealing decks every 1 to 2 years), pay the contract in full, and give us reasonable access to inspect and repair.
How to make a claim
Email info@ruleeconstruction.com or text 908-370-6506 with photos and a short description. We reply within 2 business days and inspect within 7 days. Active leaks get same-day or next-day attention.
If you sell your home
The warranty transfers once to the new owner when you notify us in writing during the warranty period.
Your rights under New Jersey law
This warranty is in addition to your rights under New Jersey law. New homes we build under our New Jersey New Home Builder registration (0058787) are covered by the separate statutory New Home Warranty instead. See our certifications for our registrations.

Is your warranty really in writing?
Yes. New Jersey requires it. You receive the full terms with your estimate and again in your signed contract.
What if a product fails rather than the installation?
Products are covered by their manufacturer's warranty. We register them for you, give you the paperwork, and help you file the claim.
Why not a lifetime warranty?
A promise without terms is hard to enforce. Ours states exactly what is covered, for how long, and how fast we respond.
